heaven is a state of mind!

Posted in Uncategorized by gkhiangte on March 8, 2009

Have you ever wondered what it would be like in heaven?

That is if you ever make it there.

I often imagine what it would be like if by some fate I end up there.

First of all, I would be standing in line at the gate while Saint Peter calls out my name

No wait! I don’t want a queue anymore. Scratch that. we don’t need lines anymore in Heaven.

So as I was saying, there I would be standing in front of the gate keeper while he google searches my name on his ‘heavenly laptop’. Why not? Heaven can hook itself up to the Net. I’m pretty sure it has the fastest internet connection ever. Don’t you ever suspect the rate at which God knows what exactly you are up to? And in the process makes you feel bad?

Okay, so he finds my name and he lets me enter the gate. This he does by pressing a remote control which is by no means ordinary, because of the fact that we can’t see it. With a pretend click on the button, the gate opens up and I start walking inside. As I enter, my earthly attire magically transforms into a white robe and my feet becomes bare. Just then, two beautiful female angels come floating next to me and escort me to the lounging area. The lounging area is huge. There are beautifully crafted glass furnitures all around. People are drinking ‘nothing’ out of the glasses. Blah blah..

right, so, here’s the thing. I have always imagined heaven to be this big amphitheatre where millions would sit and watch another poor victim being interrogated. I have this huge fear that I would be made to stand alone in the middle with heaven’s largest multiple film projectors all around. This projectors would then simultaneously project a three dimensional film of my whole entire life in just 3 seconds. But those 3 seconds would be the most embarrassing and excruciating time ever. It’s like I’m in a really bad reality show where all my misdeeds (and they are plenty) are being watched by the heaven population. It would be like this film of mine is the worst flop ever where I played the villain myself. Even in my own film, I can’t play the hero? What a sad story? Anyways, this is what I always imagine when it comes to heaven and all.

Its not easy to understand this complex, thought provoking faith of our Christianity..Heaven and Hell. I think I’ve got the taste of both here on earth..lolz

    here’s a story for you guys :

A father and his son took a stroll on a beach one fine morning and they found a dead crow, lying flat on the beach. The son asked “, Daddy, what happened to the bird ?”. The father found that it was a perfect occasion for teaching his son about heaven, so he said, ” Son, the crow is dead and has gone to heaven”. The son thought for sometime and shot back another question, ” Dad, did God throw him down from heaven ?”

some problems you may face in heaven if you ever make it there :
@envy : some will wear crowns (krauns..) and you probably wont get any (ask yourself.. :))
@Eating “van mana” : believe it or not, some said it taste like ‘idli”…
@Singing an endless song or singing enslessly : Now, lets get real here..no one’s gonna sing Miley Cyrus’s, Avril’s, Taylor Swift’s nor any of your favorite singer’s…better learn some hymn right now
@no more coloring of hair : Ha..someone’s gonna find it tough

    peih tawh lo

    @ mis calliopia:
i just cant help but to imagine in those lines cos’ everything is so high tech nowadays.
and if god is all powerful and smarter than us, i figure heaven wud be so much better in technology rt?

hey guru kim, k curious are you in ‘heaven’ rt now? meaning are u with the one u love?

I have a reasonably high Google Page Rank, so I guess I have a better chance than you in entering heaven. lolz 😛

On a serious note, you wanna know how Heaven feels like? Its when you’re with the one you love. Period.

    🙂

Your imagination makes me smile. Not the scary Judgment Day part but all the hi-tech visualizations. St Peter googling names on his laptop, the Pearly Gates being opened with the click of a remote control button, the huge lounge area with glass furniture, the multi film projectors et al. Love the clarity of your visualizations 🙂

P.S. Correction here: I’m neither popular nor successful LOL!

Thinking of Heaven sometimes scares me…I’m not ready yet!! I’ve sinned so much …so much that I don’t think even God would forgive me.No matter how far we go, how much we earn, how popular we r …everything eventually boils down to HEAVEN =) This is an SOS!

excatly….but I’m following aduhi’s belief…dts how i was to comment reading through the post nwy she did it before meh.
yeah…i do believe that your amphitheatre thing is for the JUDGEMENT DAY, before letting us get thru’ the gate of heaven.

My thoughts exactly… My folks used to scare me with the same exact story, where I would be made to stand in front of God while my whole life flashes before my eyes, the things I did behind closed doors (Not the good deeds!), the deeds I’m not very proud of.. I think you’ve kinda deviated from the topic, tho’..
Heaven is indeed a state of mind, and if you find your inner peace, then heaven is where you are.. Now, how to go about doing that is the part I’m still working on!

  13. gkhiangte said, on March 9, 2009 at 1:26 pm

haha, aduh, ur right!..i know zo wud be the last person to go to heaven.just kidding im sure she’ll get there.
yeah the film thing is probably because i think in terms of films and theatre uknow, im a little dramatic than most people..
im sure they’ll applaud me for my performance up there..hmmmm.

  14. aduhi said, on March 8, 2009 at 4:08 pm

hmm…what have we got here? Two truants who if going by their church attendance will most definitely NOT go to heaven (if church attendance is the defining factor for going to heaven but we all know it isn’t).

Heavenly laptop? Dont you think they would have something better than clunky laptops? And the big amphitheatre thing? That is gonna be soooo embarrassing. But I think this judgment thing will happen before they allow you into heaven, because if they show your film and you are the villain all the way there’s not much chance of you entering the pearly gates, is there?

  15. gkhiangte said, on March 8, 2009 at 2:09 pm

no zo, i did not post this because i bunked church. i posted this cos i have always imagined it this way..and sometimes, unlike you, i feel a little guilty for some of the stuffs i did…like this one time…and then there was that other time…and that one…well, u get it i am not an angel.
can you imagine what it would be like if there’s a trailer of your dirty little secrets and millions of people will be watching it?
and what if it won the Oscar? hahaha

  16. zorami said, on March 8, 2009 at 1:53 pm

The last paragraph makes me shudder!!The thought of exposing 24 ridiculous years of my life! Thinking of singing all day long with the angels do not excite me much, but that’s not how I picture Heaven.
Tell me one thing G,did u make this post because u bunked church today….yes, yet again??? LOLz!
